Authorities Searching For Escaped Inmate Who Led Officers On Pursuit In Davis

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said an inmate escaped around 6 p.m. Tuesday from Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester.

Davis Police located the suspect, Preston Whittington, in a stolen vehicle in their city limits, but the suspect refused to stop and took off.

Officials stayed in pursuit until just south of Wynnewood.

Officials said the suspect got out of the car and fled on foot. 

They are actively searching for the suspect.

Authorities said Whittington is nearly two years into a 10-year sentence for kidnapping and a 7-year sentence for burglary out of Stephens County.
