Escaped Oklahoma Inmate Back In Custody, Authorities Confirm

An Oklahoma inmate is back in custody after escaping from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center Tuesday evening.

According to OHP, Preston Whittington escaped from the McAlester facility and led authorities in a pursuit in a stolen vehicle. Authorities said he ran away on foot and was last seen along Interstate 35 North of Highway 7.

The Davis Police Department and the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Whittington was located Wednesday in Wichita Falls.
