Trial Begins For Tulsa Man Accused In Death Of 2-Month-Old Daughter

The trial has started in Tulsa County for a man accused in the death of his two-month-old daughter in 2019. 

Investigators at the time said the little girl had significant trauma including brain bleeds and fractured ribs. 

The jury watched body camera video Tuesday of when officers first responded to Martrell Thames' apartment complex in 2019. 

Thames told police he laid his two-month-old baby down and went to go take a shower, but when he came back the baby wasn't breathing. 

The prosecution and defense both questioned the officer on Tuesday who responded to the apartment. Prosecutors also began questioning the lead detective in the case. 

Wednesday, they plan on playing an audio recording of the lead detective interviewing Thames outside of the apartment that day. 

The judge said that will begin Wednesday morning.
