Two Tulsa fast-food restaurants cleaned up shattered glass after Tulsa Police said a man broke into the businesses and stole raw meat. Officers believe the same man broke into both restaurants in the same area of town within just a couple of hours of each other.
Police said the first break in was at Church's Chicken near Peoria and 46th Street North. They said surveillance video shows a man break the front glass door, walk inside, and leave with bags of raw chicken. Just a couple of hours later, officers received a call about a similar break in at KFC just down the street.
Police said they arrested Deon Tucker, not only because he matched the description of the suspect, but also because he was dragging a trashcan, filled with uncooked chicken. Tulsa Officer Danny Bean said now the stores have expensive repairs to make and are out some of their inventory.
"They’re disappointed that something like this would happen and they don’t want that of course and it puts them out money because they’re not going to be able to use that meat now and they’re going to have to get another stock in to be able to use," said Officer Bean.
Officer Bean said Tucker didn't say why he stole the chicken. Tucker is facing drug charges and two counts of second degree burglary.
