Hominy native and TU football standout Zaven Collins is going pro as he was selected 16th by the Arizona Cardinals in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Linebacker Zaven Collins was selected 16th by the Arizona Cardinals in the first round Thursday night.
Hominy High School held a watch party Thursday night to watch their former student go pro.

With this pick, Collins makes history as the third first-round pick in TU football history and the highest pick from TU since 1977.

University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Phillip Montgomery congratulated his former player on his incredible success.
Collins has also been raking in the awards this season, selected as the unanimous American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named the 2020 Lombardi Award winner, honoring the top player in college football based on performance, leadership, character and resiliency.
Collins was also awarded the Bronko Nagurski trophy, given to the best defensive player by the Football Writers Association of America.
