People in Broken Arrow said they're shocked after police found two men dead at a popular city park. Police are currently working to find a suspect.
For Broken Arrow resident Ottis Buttress, Haikey Creek Park has been a place of healing and recovery.
"I tore my ACL so I've been using it as kind of a walking area to do some rehab. I come out here and walk usually between 8:30 and 10 roughly," Ottis told News On 6.
But Thursday morning, Ottis skipped his morning walk when he heard his park had become a crime scene.
"It's kind of crazy. It's just so close to home because I'm only 2 miles up the street," Ottis added.
Investigators said someone called police around 3:45 Thursday morning after finding two men dead in the parking lot.
Police said the victims looked severely beaten.
"The citizen drove by and described what he saw as a motorcycle wreck," said Officer Chris Walker.
Walker explained one man appeared to have a bullet wound and there were shell casings at the scene.
Walked added there are still more questions than answers at this point -- as investigators work to piece together what happened and find a suspect.
"Let the detectives do their work and their follow up in the crime scene investigators collect their evidence and we'll go from there--- I know it's gonna be a long drawn-out investigation," Walked said.
Ottis says Thursday's events has him thinking about doing his morning walks somewhere else.
"It's gonna be kind of weird now that that happened; so, I think I'll just kind of maybe find somewhere else to walk," Ottis admitted.
