An armed suspect was taken into custody after a dangerous chase came to an end following a crash in southeast Oklahoma City.
Authorities said the chase began in Spencer on a reported ADW suspect.
The suspect, driving in a dark green SUV, travelled at a high rate of speed across Interstate 35.
Authorities appeared to have the suspect stopped at one point during the chase, but he was able to evade them and continue on briefly before slamming into a red pickup truck at the intersection of Southeast 44th and High.
"After we got him to stop he was able to get the vehicle rolling again and rammed several other law enforcement vehicles in an attempt to get away," said Trooper Eric Foster with Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
News 9 obtained surveillance video of the crash.
A witness told News 9's Barry Mangold he tried to intervene.
"I was trying to cut him," said Daryl Peoples, Witness.
The suspect exited his vehicle and attempted to run away on foot before being caught by police.
Peoples said he was a few doors down getting his car fixed when he saw the suspect running with officers close behind.
"He ran down here and got tackled right here and that's when the dog was running with the officer. That's when the officer tackled him into that fence," said Peoples.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oklahoma City Police Department assisted the Spencer Police Department with the chase.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The suspect has not yet been identified.
