House Republicans in Washington elected a new conference chair, one not at odds with former President Donald Trump, after removing Wyoming congresswoman Liz Cheney from the role.
Republican House members replaced Cheney with New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik Friday morning.

“I think she’s the right person for what we need to finish out this session we’re in right now,” Rep. Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) said.
