Street employees for the City of Tulsa were working Wednesday to fix a six-inch water main break after water started bursting from a couple’s front yard.
Water was gushing out of the front yard for about two hours Wednesday morning.
Neighbors said this happened at another house two doors down just last week, but that one was not as bad.
City crews said the neighborhood, near 61st St. North and Xanthus, has old pipes and they do not know the exact cause of either break. But the city said the break that happened Wednesday could be due to a fluctuation of pressure because of a fire at the plant down the street.

Neighbor Charlotte Jones lives across the street from the water main break and described what she saw and heard.
“I was standing in the kitchen and all of a sudden I was just looking over there at my neighbor's house because we talk all the time and something went, 'Boom!' and it went up, straight up, everything was just scattered out,” Jones said.
City workers said about six other homes had their water turned off for several hours while repairs were made.
