A mother lives with an eight-year wound as Norman investigators look for her daughter's killer.
A $40,000 reward for information leading to an arrest still sits unclaimed.
Owachige Osceola’s mother told News 9 she never saw herself here, eight years after her daughter's murder with no answers.
Her loved ones said she lived her life as a loving mother, hard worker and all-around happy person.
“All I can do is pray to God that he will see this through, and justice will prevail,” said Roberta Osceola, her mother.
On September 25, 2013, Norman police went to the 27-year-old’s home for a welfare check. When they got there the door was open and Osceola was found dead inside.
“Very painful… it still very painful, my heart is still hurting,” said Roberta.
Owachige made two 911 calls the day before, the first sounding distressed and in danger. The second call just six minutes later saying the first call was a mistake.
“She was always a likable person to where I don’t understand why someone felt it was necessary to take her life the way it happened,” said Roberta.
She said it doesn’t get any easier as the years go by.
“The person not being held responsible is the most painful and anger starts settling in. It is very hard to deal with,” said Roberta.
She hopes increasing the reward money will urge people to come forward. In the meantime, she has a message for the person responsible.
“My granddaughter is growing up without a mother. I’m sure you have family of your own, your own children as well, when they grow up, they will know eventually what you did to my daughter,” she said.
Detectives said Osceola’s ATM card was used by someone else at the Riverwind Casino the day before police found her body.
No charges have been filed in this case. If you have information, call Norman Crime Stoppers at 405-366-7867.
