Amazing Oklahoman: Darcey Smith

Tuesday’s amazing Oklahoman is a swim instructor who people living in western Oklahoma say is a lifesaver.

Darvey Smith taught swim lessons in Elk City until she heard about a shortage of swim instructors more than 40 miles away in Weatherford. So, she moved her swim lesson business over to that part of the state.

Some parents said they were having to drive their kids more than an hour away for lessons before Darcey came to the area.
