Tulsa Police Arrest 2 People Accused Of Trying To Steal Catalytic Converters At Same Business Hours Apart

Tulsa police say two people are in jail accused of trying to steal catalytic converters off of cars at the same business just hours apart. Police said the first arrest happened around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night and they were called to the area again around 1 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police said Anthony Veil was arrested first after officers noticed him inside of Aamco Transmission near 41st and Harvard. Tulsa Police said they have stepped up patrols around the area because of increased attempts to steal catalytic converters.

A couple of hours later, police said officers were called back to the business for someone else trying to steal catalytic converters. Officers said they were able to set up a perimeter around the building and use their helicopter to follow the man after he tried to run away.

Police said the second suspect admitted his plans to steal at least four catalytic converters, but police arrested him before he could take any.

“We don’t always catch all of them we’d like to but that’s our goal,” said Capt. Jerrod Hart, Tulsa Police. “This is a big night for us to catch two catalytic converter thefts, we’ve been having a ring kind of going on.”

Records show Veil is in jail being held without bond. News On 6 is working to learn the name of the second person who was arrested.
