Thursday is international tiger day and the Tulsa Zoo is sharing some exciting news.
The zoo has announced a new addition, a female cub born on July 11th.
Her dad is Tahan and her mom is Ava and this birth is very important to the Species Survival Plan.
There are only 250 in the wild because of the loss of habitat and poaching.
Zookeepers and veterinary staff are monitoring both Ava and her cub around the clock and say they are doing well.
Both she and the cub will stay in an off-exhibit area until Tulsa Zoo staff are confident the cub can navigate the exhibits safely.
She is the sixth Malayan tiger cub to be born at the Tulsa Zoo.
