Goodwill Industries To Hold Ribbon Cutting For New Bixby Location

A new Goodwill Industries location is opening in Bixby to replace the temporary donation location in that area now. President David Oliver of Goodwill Industries Tulsa said the new location is creating full-time jobs for the community at a time when job stability is needed most.

The new location is at 13555 S. Memorial Dr. in Bixby.

Along with opening what officials call a “convenient donation and retail location," they say they are also adding 15 full-time jobs to the local economy.

Oliver oversees 12 Goodwill stores in Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Missouri. He said they are excited for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting Thursday morning so they can start receiving donations and help people in need.

Goodwill donation centers have been busy over the last year as more people clean out their homes during the pandemic.

Oliver told News On 6 that the goal is to provide jobs and fill a need in the community and said that is exactly what they are doing in Bixby.

“When we look at our footprint around the city, we’ve got stores in a lot of different locations, but we didn’t have anything in the Bixby area or far southeast Tulsa it fit a need for us as for the community,” Oliver said.

That opening ceremony is at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and the store will immediately open to the public for normal business hours right after.

The store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 pm.
