It's football time in Oklahoma, but before heading to either Cowboy or Sooner territory, both schools need some help slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Tailgating will be limited to designated areas, and fans inside the stadium or campus are expected to wear masks.

A vaccine clinic will be available before the Pokes’ home opener.

"I think some of the excuses you might hear are convenience and access, and we are trying to bridge that gap and meet people where they are at," said Barrett Hinter with the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.

The Cowboys' kickoff their season against Missouri State at 6 p.m. Saturday.

As for OU, fans at The Palace on the Prairie are encouraged to mask up while inside.

"There will not be any requirements with respect to testing and vaccinations, simply a request and urging to wear masking while they are here," said Kenny Mossman, the Executive Associate Athletic Director for OU.

OU will be in Norman for an 11 a.m. kickoff Saturday after Hurricane Ida forced the game to relocate from New Orleans.

There will be signs encouraging masking, all touchless paying and no physical distancing requirements. Only the lower bowl of the stadium will be open.

This will be treated like a Tulane home game, so all net proceeds will go straight to their program.

There will be opportunities at the game for anyone who would like to know how to give back to Hurricane Ida victims.
