A pregnant woman is thankful to be alive after she, her husband and two in-laws were in a serious crash.

Dezzie Morris said the crash happened in a dangerous intersection of Highway 51 that needs to be fixed.

Morris said this weekend, she and her family crashed into another car at this intersection of Highway 51 and 265 W Avenue. Morris said she’s almost lost her life here not once, but twice.

"Before I knew it, I hear screeching tires and just slow-motion rolling," Morris recalled of Saturday's crash. Morris said her husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law were all inside. Morris is 32 weeks pregnant.

“Saturday I could’ve lost my husband my mother-in-law my brother-in-law and my unborn baby," Morris said.

Morris said she and everyone in the car went to the hospital. She said this is not the first crash she’s had at this intersection. She had another one in May and suffered several broken bones.

"I was hit by a truck. And I was thrown across the highway, I was hit twice," Morris explained, "I was like 'not again' you know? Because this happened in May, how many times does it have to happen before something gets done?"

Morris said the intersection is dangerous because there are overgrown trees, a steep hill, and a lot of speeders.

"I know that there are more people out there that have had accidents in that exact spot, and I just want people to know that I need to be heard as a community," Morris added.

Morris said the road is in Tulsa County and said she and her family plan to talk to commissioners about the road.

"We’re just really lucky - it was a miracle," Morris said.
