Broken Arrow's Neinhuis Park is now open after a big renovation. The skate park is near East 51st and Lynn Lane, and was closed for about five months.
People have been testing out their skateboards and bikes since the skate park officially opened at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Users of the skate park say this is a major upgrade and they already love it.
The City of Broken Arrow collaborated with Action Sports Design and local skaters to decide what the park should look like.
The Neinhuis Skate Park first opened back in 2007, but a 2018 bond gave the people of Broken Arrow the chance to expand it for $758,000.
The bond passed and the result was a big new skate park that's nearly double the size of the original, from 17,000 to 30,000 square feet.
"It's another, just, family-oriented, quality of life aspect to add to our city and just improve on," Broken Arrow Mayor Debra Wimpee said.
The location of the skate park is sizeable, with unused land surrounding it. Mayor Wimpee says the city hopes to improve other areas of the park, like the sand volleyball courts and the community center.
