One person is in custody and another is on the run after a high-speed chase in southeast Oklahoma City.
The chase happened just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. The chase ended when the suspects crashed into a convenience store.
Oklahoma City police said the chase lasted a couple minutes, as the initial 911 call came from just over a mile away.
"There was a vehicle driving by. Someone had a gun out the window firing it," Oklahoma City police Master Sergeant Gary Knight said.
The call came from a residential area near Interstate 35 and Southeast 22nd Street. Officers nearby saw a car that matched the description, but the driver sped off.
"As it turns out, the vehicle was a stolen car, so they were eluding police in a stolen vehicle,” Knight said. “The pursuit wound its way through southeast Oklahoma City for a minute, minute and a half before it crashed out at a convenience store.”
OCPD said the two people inside the car jumped out and ran. K-9's found the driver, Zachary Pappan, in a shed nearby.
Lamont Richardson lives near the Supermart. He watched as investigators looked for the second suspect.
"I seen (sic) lights coming through my window and it was just police everywhere,” Richardson said. "They were just all around the yard and a bunch of them up and down the street. I seen (sic) the helicopter shining their light and they were looking for somebody.”
Police searched the stolen vehicle and found a gun holster but no gun. Pappan was arrested on an attempting to elude police and unlawful use of a motor vehicle complaints.
