We have new details about the death of a 2-month-old baby, who investigators say was killed by his father.
Investigators said while the baby's mom was in the hospital with COVID-19, 25-year-old Colten Thompson was taking care of their son.
One day he got frustrated with the boy for crying and admitted that's when the abuse happened.
The affidavit said baby Logan had two brain bleeds and a possible skull fracture when he died.
The OSBI said they want to get justice for him.
The affidavit said 2-month-old Logan was born prematurely and spent four weeks in the neonatal ICU before he came home.
It said after the mother went to the hospital, Logan's father, Colten Thompson, was taking care of the baby.
It said Logan's mom called and check on him every hour and all was good until Thompson told her he had grabbed Logan roughly and the boy wasn't acting right.
"We were requested by Pawnee police Sunday after a baby was injured," said Brook Arbeitman with the OSBI.
The affidavit said Logan had bruises on his face and Thompson admitted to slapping the baby 5 to 10 times in the previous few weeks.
It said Logan had 2 different brain bleeds, a skull fracture on the left side and brain swelling before he passed away yesterday.
"Every death is hard, ultimately our goal is to find justice for everybody," Arbeitman said. "It's especially sad to read the details of this case."
Investigators say Thompson told them he was angry Logan was crying and admitted he grabbed the boy out of his bouncer, by one arm, then dropped the baby on a bed. Logan's mother told investigators Thompson didn't have a bond with Logan, had anger issues, and smoked marijuana all day, every day.
"For that little two-month-old, we're going to make sure he has justice," Arbeitman said.
Thompson has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse.
