Tulsa police are working to piece together what started a fight outside of a Brookside Bar that ended with officers recovering a gun.

Officers say they were called to the scene around 1 a.m. on Friday morning after receiving reports, by some witnesses and nearby neighbors, that gunshots had been fired.

Police say two people involved in the fight went their separate ways by the time officers showed up.

Investigators say they could not find a shooting scene in the parking lot and say nobody appears to have been shot. Witnesses helped police locate the truck of one of the men at a nearby QuikTrip.

Police say a gun was taken from the truck and is being held until the owner can retrieve it. Investigators say the gun was being carried legally.

According to police, nobody was taken to jail.

Police say it is always important to be aware of your surroundings in a bar, especially if a fight breaks out.
