Tulsa Police are dealing with staffing issues as the pandemic is forcing several officers to miss work.

Police Chief, Wendell Franklin said the department is taking added precautions. The nature of their work means they can be exposed to the virus at any time.

"For us, as policeman, we're still face-to-face with people so we do have to go out, and take calls and deal with the public so that does put officers in harms way. But we're working through it as best that we can," said Franklin.

Chief Franklin said there are about 30 to 40 officers out due to COVID-19.
