A man charged with shooting and killing a Tulsa Police officer and injuring another, was back in court Thursday.
The trial for David Ware is now less than two months away.
Both prosecutors and David Ware's attorney say everything is on track for the trial to start the first week of April, as planned. Prosecutors and Ware's attorney gave the judge an update on their exchange of evidence ahead of the trial. Both sides say they are pretty much done and the only thing they are waiting on is a medical report for Ware's attorney.
Ware is charged with killing Sergeant Craig Johnson and injuring Officer Aurash Zarkeshan during a traffic stop in 2020.
Ware's attorney says Ware received an MRI of his brain this week and those images will be examined by a neuropsychologist and a neurosurgeon to determine if Ware has any brain injury or head trauma that affects his decision making.
Prosecutors and Ware’s attorneys say because of how much evidence is in this case, the trial could last three weeks to a month.
