Standoff At Edmond Hotel Ends Without Incident, Suspect In Custody

A suspect is in custody after barricading himself inside a hotel off I-35 and Highway 77 in Edmond Tuesday afternoon. Ollie Harris was wanted out of Tulsa in connection with a homicide that occurred last Thursday.

EDMOND, Oklahoma -

A suspect is in custody after barricading himself inside a hotel off I-35 and Highway 77 in Edmond Tuesday afternoon.

Ollie Harris was wanted out of Tulsa in connection with a homicide that occurred last Thursday.

Tulsa Police said they were responded to a shooting on the morning of March 2 where officers found 59-year-old James Kinnard dead after being shot in the chest.

Kinnard was doing work on a home when he and the suspect got into an argument that ended with the fatal shooting.

Detectives identified Harris as the suspect and received word that he could have been hiding out in an Edmond hotel.

Harris was taken without incident by Edmond police and is currently at the Oklahoma County Jail. He will be transferred back to Tulsa with charges of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted burglary and possession of a firearm as a felon.
