A Tulsa family is praying for a miracle after their loved one was in a car wreck on the Cimarron Turnpike. David Tilley's family said he's fighting hard and they are not giving up hope that he will make a full recovery.
Chad Garrison said his brother-in-law David Tilley is one of those guys who never meets a stranger. His two loves in life are his kids and the sooners.
"Just a guy out there working hard, raising three kids on his own, which is hard for a single dad to do, and that's what has been so tragic about this whole thing," Chad said.
David was in wreck on the Cimarron Turnpike last week when driving back to Tulsa from Salina, Kansas for work. Chad said David's car caught on fire, and two men were able to run up to the car and get him out just in time.
"They were able to cut the seatbelt and pull him out before the car went up in flames," he said.
David is now in a coma with a severe brain injury. Chad said they are grateful to those two men who got him out of the car. They are hopeful David will make a full recovery.
"It could have been a different scenario altogether, he's still fighting, he's still got a chance, we are still believing," he said.
Chad said David is beloved in the community and they have felt so much support - through people visiting the hospital or dropping off food for the family, and through the prayers of everyone who knows and loves David.
"We all believe he can hear us, and no matter what the battle is we're believing in a greater power that's going to provide a miracle for this family," he said.
Chad said they are continuing to take care of David's three children. They are continuing to ask for prayers.
