A Grove woman died at the hospital Monday after a deadly crash in Delaware County Saturday evening, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Mary Tanner, 47, died from the injuries sustained in the multi-vehicle crash on US-59 near East 320 Road in Grove.

Grove and Jay firefighters rescued Tanner, who was pinned in a car for about an hour and took her to a Tulsa hospital.

Troopers said the crash occurred after a 2020 Land Rover driven by Ronda Crawford attempted to pass a vehicle on US-59. That vehicle, a 2018 Ford Explorer, was driven by Barbara Lewis.

Troopers said Crawford hit Lewis's car while trying to pass and caused her vehicle to enter the northbound lane of the highway. That's when Troopers say that a 2018 Chevy Equinox, driven by Kristen Tanner, crashed into Lewis's car and caused it to turn over off the road.

There were four people in that Chevy Equinox and Troopers said that Kristen Tanner and a four-year-old were treated and released from the hospital in stable condition. Shirley Krause, another passenger, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Mary Tanner died two days later.

Lewis was the only person in the Ford Explorer and she was taken to the hospital in stable condition after being pinned for about two hours after the crash.

Crawford was not injured in the crash.

This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates.
