According to a report, draft night became a little more interesting for the Thunder thanks to a Monday trade.
ESPN is reporting that the Oklahoma City Thunder have swung a trade with the Denver Nuggets, its Northwest Division opponent.
In the deal, Oklahoma City will receive journeyman forward JaMychal Green and a protected 2027 first-round pick from the Nuggets. Denver will receive OKC's 30th pick in this year's draft and two future second-round picks.
It is not yet known when those two second-round picks will be sent to Denver.
Green served as a reserve for Denver, who lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the eventual Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors.
Green averaged 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds. He shot a career-low 26.6 percent from the three-point line in 2021-22, but Green is still a career 36.6 percent from behind the arc.
Wojnarowski said Green is expected to exercise his 2022-23 contract option worth $8.2 million. OKC is estimated to have more than $30 million worth of cap space for this upcoming year.
The Thunder now have the No. 2, No. 12 and No. 34 picks while the Nuggets now have the No. 21 and No. 30 selections.
The 2022 NBA Draft is set for June 23 in Brooklyn.
