Investigators with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Dalton Skipworth and Christian Dalmont, accusing them of soliciting sex with a minor by use of technology.
On July 8, Skipworth was taken into custody by Canadian County deputies with the help of the Murray County Sheriff’s Office. Dalmont was arrested on July 9.
According to law enforcement, Skipworth believed he was talking to a 14-year-old girl and discussed various sexual acts. The decoy also talked to Skipworth about the clothes he wanted her to wear and discussed where they would meet to have sex.
Skipworth is employed by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and works in Jackson County. Through investigation, deputies also learned that Skipworth worked as a volunteer with Mountain View Baptist Church at Falls Creek Church Camp in south central Oklahoma. Falls Creek staff have been contacted by investigators. The staff helped officers locate Skipworth.
Skipworth is being held on a $25,000 bond. Skipworth has posted bail and has been released from custody.
Falls Creek Church Camp issued the following statement:
“We were grieved to learn of these appalling allegations and appreciate the efforts of law enforcement. We were pleased to assist in their efforts to apprehend the individual, and we remain diligent in carrying out our safety protocols.”
OKDHS released the following statement on the incident:
OKDHS is dedicated to protecting the safety and wellbeing of Oklahoma’s children and the agency has absolutely no tolerance for those who would seek to harm them. The charges brought against Mr. Skipworth go against our agency’s core values and the very principals of his work. He has been suspended while law enforcement conducts their investigation. We are committed to supporting and cooperating with law enforcement to determine whether any children were placed in harm’s way, to ensure no child is placed at any risk while in the custody of the Department, and to see that justice is always served.
Canadian County investigators arrested Christian Dalmont of Wichita, Kansas on July 9 in Canadian County after he had engaged in sexual communication with a decoy he believed to be a 12-year-old girl.
Dalmont described to the decoy various sexual acts including having “threesomes” with children as young as eight years old.
Dalmont communicated with the decoy from his home in Wichita and told her he wanted to meet up at a skate park in Canadian County.
Dalmont made plans to pick up the decoy and asked her if her parents would contact police if he took her for the weekend.
Dalmont was taken into custody by Canadian County deputies before he was able to enter the park he planned on meeting the girl at. Dalmont admitted to investigators at that point that he was there to have sex with the decoy.
Dalmont consented to having his phone searched and investigators located child pornography on his phone.
Dalmont was transported to the Canadian County Jail and booked on charges of Lewd Acts with a Minor and possession of Child Pornography. He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
