Criteria For Monkeypox Vaccine To Expand Monday

Starting Monday, the State Health Department is expanding who is eligible to receive the monkeypox vaccine.

Until now, the shots were only for those who were exposed to confirmed monkeypox cases.

The criteria for vaccines are expanding to include men who are sexually active with other men.

"This is an ever-rapidly changing situation and we're learning more every day," Jolianne Stone, Oklahoma State Epidemiologist said.

The CDC says gay and bisexual men, so far, make up the majority of cases.

However, the health department asks everyone to be cautious.
