Pryor Police have released body camera and store surveillance video of an arrest after another video was posted online.
The video shows the officer asking the driver to show him his hands, before he pulls his gun and points it at the suspected drunk driver.
Chief Dennis Nichols said this is a perfect example of how one video doesn't show the full story.
He said the two new video paints a better picture of what really happened.
Parker Jones was one of several to call police about Charles Burrow's driving last night. But his concern shifted to the officer's behavior while he took this video.
"Probably how unprofessionally he handled it. I mean he held his gun sideways a couple inches from his face and asked him ‘You’re going to get shot in the effing face,'" he said.
Cory Burrow isn't defending his brother Charles' driving, but also believes the officer was out of line.
"Way too excessive. In my opinion. Just too excessive? Yeah I mean you’re supposed to have rules for the way you go," he said.
Pryor Police Chief Nichols said the one video doesn't tell the full story.
"A seemingly innocent situation can turn violent," he said.
Newly released body camera and security footage of the moments before this, show Charles Burrow shut the car door, and moved his hands where the officer couldn't see them. Police said that's when the officer pulled his weapon.
“When hands disappear like that, and you can’t see the hands, especially if an individual has slammed the door back shut. You don’t know what he’s reaching for, what he’s going to pull out, things can turn extremely violent in a matter of seconds or less," he said.
Police said the store's surveillance video shows the officer did not punch Burrow when he took him to the ground.
Nichols said the officer will be on "modified duty" while the department investigates his conduct during the arrest.
