Authorities say an emergency dispatcher for the Haskell County Sheriff's Office was killed in a crash along OK-31 on Wednesday.
The crash happened around 3:55 p.m. along OK-31, at the intersection of OK-82, in Haskell County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Troopers.
Troopers say the fatal crash involved a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2019 Mack truck.
According to troopers, the Jetta was facing westbound when they attempted to turn south on OK-82. Troopers say the vehicle then was hit by an oncoming Mack truck that was traveling eastbound on OK-82.
The Jetta, which was being driven by 22-year-old Amanda Mayo-Conrad, a dispatcher for the Haskell County Sheriff's Office, was hit on the passenger side. Mayo-Conrad was pronounced dead on the scene by the Medical Examiner.
The Haskell County Sheriff's Office and the Stigler Police Department shared a post on their Facebook page on Wednesday evening about the fallen dispatcher.
The post read in part: "We lost a quick-witted, funny, different, character that kept us all in laughter, but genuinely cared about our well-being while on active calls."
The driver of the Mack truck did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
