Owasso Police are asking for help after they say vandals did more than half a million dollars worth of damage at a construction site.

Police say this happened overnight last weekend near 76th Street North and Memorial. The vandals tore up shipping containers, flipped a front-end loader on its side, and also cut up the asphalt on Memorial.

Officers posted photos of the damage. Lieutenant Nick Boatman with Owasso Police says a construction worker found the damage to the site around 6 a.m.

"We responded and observed all kinds of damage out here at this construction site. There were overturned construction vehicles, obviously, the Conex boxes that hold a lot of their tools and equipment were turned over, damaged, and broken into," Boatman said.

Boatman says the vandals also damaged the roadway on Memorial Drive.

"At the end of their experience I guess they decided to flip a couple of them over which caused extensive damage to the machinery itself including a track hoe, a backhoe, and a forklift elevator," Boatman said.

This construction is for a church building project.

"The estimate so far from the construction company is about half a million dollars worth of their damage. Luckily the church itself that's being built is not out of a whole lot of money, they're out of a little bit of materials that were damaged during the vandalism," Boatman said.

Investigators aren’t sure who might have done something like this. They hope to get answers from the a camera that was set up on the site,

If you have any information about who is responsible, you're asked to call the Owasso police tip line at 918-272-COPS. You can remain anonymous.
