High Winds Cause Tree To Fall On Tulsa Home

High winds caused a tree to fall on a house in Tulsa, leaving the home with significant damage.

Authorities say it happened around noon on Sunday near E. 51st St. and Harvard Avenue.

Firefighters say the AC unit, electrical system and garage were all damaged.

PSO showed up to take care of the electricity, but firefighters say they're worried about structural damage and advised those living at the house to leave for now.

"If you have a large tree in your yard, high winds like this, it's something to think about with those larger trees that will get rotten on the inside, they'll look OK on the outside, but you might want to have an inspector look at them or check them yourself now and then," said Tulsa Fire Capt. Jim Nimmo.
