Tulsans are remembering Kristallnacht, the "Night of Broken Glass" on its 84th anniversary Wednesday night. It's considered the start of the Holocaust.

On the night of November 9, 1938, Nazis destroyed more than 7,000 Jewish homes, businesses, and synagogues across Germany and Austria.

TCC's Southeast Campus hosted a panel to teach people about the Holocaust, and why it's vital to remember.

"There are issues where we cannot afford to be bystanders. And, we see it all over the place. And it's our obligation to speak up, to know what the history is, so that we don't end up repeating everything all over again," said Alice Blue, Holocaust Education Council Chairwoman.

During Kristallnacht, 91 Jews were murdered, and another 30,000 were arrested and sent to concentration camps.
