Five people accused of leading police on a chase on Thursday night in Tulsa are in custody, according to officers.
Officers say they were flagged down at QuikTrip near East 31st Street and South 129th East Avenue in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred two blocks away.
The victim said he spent the day hanging out with his friend, and this friend had wanted to stop by another friend’s house, police said. When they arrived at the other friend’s house, four males exited the home and approached the victim and friend, police explained. The victim said that one of the four males pointed a gun at him, and took his wallet, phone and keys to his vehicle, said police.
Police say all four suspects had handguns and one of them had an AR-15 rifle, according to the victim.
According to police, the victim's friend had set the victim up and jumped in the vehicle with the other four suspects who fled the scene.
The victim then called his mother who was able to track the stolen vehicle heading westbound on Highway 11, police said.
Police say they then spotted the car on 46th Street North and chased after it. The chase ended in a crash near North Peoria, and three people ran from the car, but officers found and arrested them, police said.
Two people in the car went to the hospital and were treated for minor injuries, said police.
Police identified the five suspects as Norian Carr, Darrin Horn, Xavier Hunter, Edward Mcelwee and Cordell Patrick.
All five suspects were taken into custody.
