For many students it will be the first time back on campus since the murders.

Blaine Eckles, the assistant dean of students at the university, said safety is a top priority.

"We have increased the relationship with the Latah County Sheriff's Office, so they are going to have a presence on campus," Eckles said. "We have also hired additional campus security officers and we're still in very close partnership with the Moscow Police Department."
