Attorney General Gentner Drummond has filed a motion with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to allow for more time between executions.
In a statement from Drummond's office, Drummond said the current pace of executions is unsustainable in the long run.
"It is unduly burdening the Department of Corrections and its personnel," Drummond said.
If approved, the upcoming executions scheduled for death-row inmates such as Richard Glossip would be pushed back by 60 days.
