Injured Harper County Undersheriff Released From Hospital After 71 Days

Harper County Undersheriff Travis Painter is finally going home after 71 straight days in the hospital.

Painter was shot on Thanksgiving after responding to a call that a man was trying to enter a building with a shotgun.

The suspect later opened fire, hitting Painter. According to the OSBI, deputies returned fire and killed the suspect.
