A woman is dead and another is in the hospital on Thursday morning after a rollover crash in Mayes County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Troopers.
Troopers say the crash happened along County Road 440, northwest of Pryor, in Mayes County around 9 p.m.
According to Troopers, 56-year-old Rhonda Collom was driving a 2004 Chevy Tahoe with 27-year-old Adrianna Lumabao sitting as a passenger.
Troopers say the two were traveling eastbound on County Road 440 when Collom swerved off the left side of the road and overcorrected. According to troopers, Collom was unable to regain control of the vehicle, leading to a rollover crash that ejected the driver.
Troopers say Collom was transported to a hospital in Pryor where she was later pronounced deceased from injuries sustained in the crash. Lumabao suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital.
According to OHP Troopers, the crash was likely caused by unsafe speeds exceeding the legal limit.
