Tulsa Riverside Airport Plans Long-Term Improvements

The 30-year roadmap for Tulsa Riverside Airport's improvement plans is almost complete.

Airport representatives say it's going to extend the main runway by about 600 feet in both directions and realign 81st street on the left side around the extended runway. The 81st street realignment could happen within the next 6 to 10 years. They say the development won't impact 91st street or the golf course on the right side.

The airport will also be upgrading security fences and rehabilitating some of the pavement over the next 5 years. Riverside Airport expects to see about 50,000 more takeoffs and landings each year by 2042. Airport officials are presenting details to the public this Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 at Tulsa Tech Riverside Campus.
