Charges against a man arrested in a fatal shooting were dropped by prosecutors after obtaining new evidence in the case.
Scott Brown had been a suspect in two deadly shooting cases that were only months apart. Prosecutors have determined both were self-defense.
Prosecutors had accused Brown of killing his best friend, Johnathan Camren in the early hours of New Year's Day in 2022.

Police said the men were in a road rage incident with another driver.
While Brown fired his gun during the altercation, Brown's attorney said new medical evidence shows Brown did not fire the shot that killed Camren.
"It was an unfolding situation where he saw a threat to Jonathon Camren fairly quickly," Brown's attorney Dan pond said. "Both defense of self and [of] Jonathon Camren."
However, Brown was convicted on one count of pointing a firearm, a felony, and Brown is no longer legally allowed to carry a firearm.
