A woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head in Inola on Wednesday night, Sheriff Scott Walton said.

The incident happened near East 595 Road and South 4230 Road in Inola, deputies said.

Deputies said they received a call around 8:00 p.m. about a woman who was shot in a field, about 200 yards away from the road.

They do have a person of interest in custody, deputies said.
