Many towns sustained damage from severe storms, including high winds, hail, and tornadoes. Below is a list of reported damage.
Shawnee Area
The town of Shawnee experienced damages from strong winds. We are getting reports of downed power lines and store signs twisted near I-40 and Kickapoo Avenue, including a shopping center.
The Shawnee Airport also sustained damage.
There are also reports of damage to a trailer park near Coker Road and Hardesty Road.
Trees were uprooted near 1300 North Broadway, possibly into nearby roofs.
A barn was damaged near Waco, East of Gaddy.
United States 177 is closed due to downed power lines.
Oklahoma Baptist University also sustained tornado damage, including a hole in Bailey Business Center.
Shawnee Public Schools will be closed Thursday, April 20.
Blanchard Area
The owner of Scissortail Silos Event Center says the business is leveled. There are also reports of roofs pulled back from nearby areas.
The entire town of Blanchard is currently without power.
Blanchard is also experiencing road closures due to debris, including parts of Highway 76.
Cole Area
News 9’s Tevis Hillis talked with people of Cole who said entire houses were destroyed.
There are many power lines down preventing roadways from being open. Highway 74-B is currently closed.
Washington Schools will be closed Thursday, April 20.
Dibble Area
The town of Dibble is reporting damage to homes.
