The State Medical Examiner on Monday released the preliminary reports on the deaths of six children, and their parents, after a Broken Arrow house fire last year.
From the beginning, investigators said they did not believe anyone died from the fire. Monday the medical examiner's reports confirm, all eight people were shot. The names of the six children murdered by their parents are Brian Nelson II, Brantley, Vegeta, Ragnar, Kurgan, and Britannica.
Their ages were 13, nine, seven, five, two, and one, respectively. The medical examiner's office reports said they were all shot at least once, but Brian Nelson II was shot at least six times. Investigators determined all of the children's manner of death was a homicide, but the reports for the parents, Brittney and Brian, show the manner of death is "unknown."
First responders said back in October, they found the parents, who were both in their 30s, dead in the front of the house. The six children were found in one room in the back of the house. The plot of land near Houston and Elm where the family once lived still sits empty after the home was demolished earlier this year.
The woman who owned the property at the time of the murders said on the phone Monday that she sold it to a friend, and as far as she knows, he intends to build another home there at some point. Investigators never released much information on the case beyond saying it was investigated as a murder-suicide. The cause of the fire has not been released.
