Shawnee PS Announces Date Middle School Reopens For In-Person Learning

Shawnee Public Schools has announced the date that the middle school will reopen for in-person learning after a series of storms caused damage to several of the district’s campuses.

Shawnee Middle School will return to in-person learning on May 8.

The district said they have worked closely with structural engineers to assess the damage caused by the storms, and the building has been inspected and deemed safe to use.

Meal pickup is still available for students from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the locations listed:

1. Shawnee Middle School (North Parking Lot)
2.  W 7th St @ S Chapman St. (North side of 7th St) 
3. E Hayes St Between S Bell St & S Union St (alleyway) 
4. Hardesty Dr @ Pine Ridge Rd (at the park, west side)
