A new law lets Oklahoma schools better help diabetic students in an emergency.
Governor Kevin Stitt signed Senate Bill 147, which allows school boards to adopt a policy to stock medication in schools. School officials can then give it to diabetic students if their blood sugar levels drop too low.
A parent or guardian has to sign a waiver before the school is allowed to administer the medicine.
