Victim's Family Speaks Out After OSBI Takes Over Investigation On Henryetta Property

For several days, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been collecting evidence at a home in Henryetta, Oklahoma, where seven people were found dead last week.

Ivy Webster is one of the teenage victims found dead at this property. Her grandmother said she knows she’ll never get all the answers, but there needs to be something done to make sure this never happens again. 

There’s now a garden at Webster’s home. The garden is a memorial for Webster. It’s helping loved ones like Shannon Boykin cope with this tragic loss.

“This is our first years of first. It’s going to be my daughter’s first Mother’s Day without her daughter,” Boykin said.

Boykin said she’s always been the anchor for her family, but this she can’t explain.

“I don’t know how to be there for my daughter,” Boykin said.

Boykin and other family members went to the home where police said Jesse McFadden shot and killed six people.

“I shouldn’t have had to see that because it puts all those questions that I’ll never have answered. I know she was sexually assaulted but to what extent,” Boykin said.

She saw things in the home that are too graphic to share, and another surprise was a lot of evidence not collected.

“The only time since I been here since Monday that that scene has been secure is now that the command center is up there,” Boykin said.

The Okmulgee District Attorney Carol Iski said she asked OSBI to take over the investigation after speaking to the Webster family.

“I feel like they dropped the ball on it. I feel the bodies were found, and they wanted to wash their hands of it,” Boykin said. 

According to the family’s attorney, OSBI sent resources to search the home and the ponds on the property.

The OSBI told News 9 that the investigation is ongoing. Boykin there’s something she knows she’ll never understand, but this is work that will save another life.

“He was going to the kids' functions at school. It was just candy for him that was him preying on his next victim. Not okay,” Boykin said.

Boykin said they’re now fighting for legislation to be added at the end of this session. Their goal is to protect the public from convicted sexual predators.
