An investigation is underway on Friday morning after a fire broke out at a Tulsa Church overnight.
Tulsa Firefighters say they were called to the scene near East 21st Street and South 145th East Avenue, just before 11 p.m. on Friday night.
When fire officials say when they arrived, they saw heavy flames shooting from the roof of the church and requested additional help.
Andy Little, with the Tulsa Fire Department, says firefighters called in five engines and three ladder trucks.
Fire officials say the overnight blaze destroyed a portion of the church, but crews were able to save the majority of it.
"When they set up to make that initial attack and the second when they set up it was more of an exposure control in case that first structure became fully involved and started to spread they could protect that other building and they did that, so we are thankful at least able to save a portion of this property," said Andy Little.
Firefighters searched the area several times and say they didn't find anyone inside.
The cause remains under investigation.
