**Update To This Story: Stolen Food Trailer Recovered, Returned To Owner In One Piece
The owner of a food trailer is upset after thieves stole his business out of a downtown Tulsa parking lot.
Plans were in motion to move the truck to a nearby brewery for a family to start its own pizza business in it. Bret Perkins says he ran “Okie Goodness” out of a 1958 AirStream for seven years. The trailer was parked in a lot near 11th and Elgin when it disappeared.
“I wondered if it was towed,” said Perkins.
Perkins says he knew something was wrong when his new tenant called and asked if the trailer had already been moved. Tulsa Police say someone at a nearby business saw a group of people hanging around the trailer on Tuesday afternoon.
“A witness reported that sometime around 3:45 they saw a couple of men and a woman kind of hovering around the AirStream,” said Officer Danny Bean, Tulsa Police.
Perkins says plans for the trailer were centered around a new family serving up pizza.
“We’ve got a family that’s moved themselves down to Tulsa to start a business here and raise a young family,” said Perkins. “Bringing it back in operation for them is the number one priority.”
Perkins is hopeful someone saw something since the business stands out. Anyone with information should call Tulsa Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.
