The BOK Center has been named one of the top concert venues in the world.
It was ranked in the top 30 on Billboard’s Boxscore’s Top Venues list for their 2023 midyear report, which is a list of the world’s highest-grossing venues.
The BOK Center was ranked 29th in the world and 20th in the U.S., after making more than $14 million in ticket sales from November to April.
Bryan Crowe, the Vice President and General Manager of the BOK Center, says making this list is a big deal to the venue and Tulsa as a whole.
"We've never appeared in the top 30 on this report, so very exciting stuff for Tulsa as a music city and really kind of shows to the strength of the patrons, guests, our partners,” said Crowe.
He says it means even more that this ranking comes at a time when the concert industry worldwide is at its peak.
"To be among the top 30 in the world at a period of the entertainment and touring cycle which is a very strong period,” said Crowe. “So this is like, you're on the top list during a period where lots of activities are happening and lots of large venues worldwide."
Crowe is thankful the fans in Green Country continue to support large acts that make their way to the BOK Center- from artists on tour to the PBR to the Big 12 Wrestling Championships.
"What this shows, is that this market, the Tulsa market, is growing, and being able to support big-time, headlining, touring acts, consistently, throughout the year,” said Crowe.
He says concert fans have a lot to look forward to from the BOK Center in the future.
"We've got a lot of really exciting activity and interest in the Tulsa market and the BOK Center from touring artists and acts, so we see that it's going to be a great couple of years here,” said Crowe.
Crowe says the BOK Center is looking forward to bringing in even more money from ticket sales from big concerts coming to town like Madonna, Paramore, and Zach Bryan.
