Edmond's Utility Charge Exemption For Families Of Fallen First Responders

The city of Edmond passed a new policy waiving utility charges for any spouse of an Edmond firefighter or police officer killed in the line of duty.

The policy passed Monday, nearly one year after Edmond Police Sergeant CJ Nelson was killed on the line of duty.

Surviving spouses would only be eligible if their primary residence is within Edmond City limits, and if their service provider is Edmond Electric or the City's Water Resources Department.
